Description

Health, nutrition and pre-primary education are provided through the Anganwadi Sevika under the Integrated Child Development Services Schemes.  For this, it is the need of the hour to transform the existing Anganwadi center into an smart Anganwadi center.  'Smart Anganwadi Scheme' has been planned to make the education of the Anganwadi center enjoyable, to raise the standard of services there. In these centers, children are provided pre-school education, health, nutrition in a pleasant environment.  Additionally, adolescent girls and women are trained for skill development programs.

Objectives

1. To convert Anganwadis into smart Anganwadis by improving their quality and increasing their infrastructural facilities.
2. To make the learning and premises of the Anganwadi center pleasant.

Details

1. To improve the quality of Anganwadi and increase their infrastructural facilities to convert them into smart Anganwadi solar power sets in Anganwadi, educational materials for Anganwadi building, e-learning, infrastructure - LED TV with USB port and Pendrive, chairs and tables for children, Swachh Bharat Set for children , water purifier (without electricity), exterior painting of building, beautification, toilet repair, premises cleaning, minor repairs etc., are included.
2. 5000 Anganwadi centers will be converted into smart Anganwadi every year. Anganwadi in self-owned buildings are being converted into Smart Anganwadi.

Criteria

68 thousand Anganwadi with their own buildings in the state have been selected on priority. Currently, under this scheme, 16,885 Anganwadi in the state have been converted into smart Anganwadis.
